Open to youth ages 8-16 years of age. The course will teach water safety, introduce participants to the duties and responsibilities of an ocean lifeguard, practice life saving techniques, identify dangerous water conditions, learn to use rescue equipment, and participate in friendly competitions.

All forms must be mailed to the Town of Islip with payment. Please indicate your child's Tshirt size in the Upper Left Hand side of the form. Sizes include: Youth S, M, L, Adult S, M, L, XL
Participants will take the 7am Ferry from Bay Shore Maple Avenue to Atlantique and the 9:50am Ferry back to Bay Shore. Ferry Tickets are NOT provided with this program.
Prerequisites:
NOTE: This course will NOT certify anyone to be a lifeguard. It will build a foundation of knowledge, attitude and skill in preparation for the NY State Level 1 Ocean Lifeguard Test. You are encouraged to check with your health-care professional before participating in this program.
